Upper Elementary, Middle, and High School Full Orchestra

The symphony includes advanced players from upper Elementary to the end of High School, including all strings, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. This ensemble is our largest and gives students the chance to experience a full orchestra. Coaches work alongside students during rehearsals to assist and develop their techniques, training students to work effectively in ensembles. This group explores a wide variety of repertoire, from the major works of the past three centuries to film soundtracks and seasonal favorites. The Symphony has collaborated with other artistic organizations as well as performing for community outreach and service, and remains open to these opportunities.

Ensemble Director, Joseph Kaye

Conductor Joseph Kaye is Director of Orchestras at Santa Ana High School and a faculty member at Santa Ana College. An experienced conductor, violin performer, and music educator, he earned his Master of Education degree from Lesley University where his thesis focused on Equity in Integrated Teaching Through the Arts, and has taught ensemble music in grades 5-12 in public schools since 2005. In addition to his teaching endeavors, Joseph is an avid chamber music and orchestral musician. He is a current member of Symphony Irvine, Bellflower Symphony Orchestra, and La Mirada Symphony Orchestra.
